For the latest version of URLKey and this document, check the URLKey home page at . Using URLKey URLKey is a Control Panel/Extension that allows you to load a Uniform Resource Locator (URL) with your preferred World Wide Web (WWW) browser from any application on your Mac that supports the clipboard. Just select any text that contains a URL, copy it to the clipboard, then type your HotKey - command-shift-u by default. The URL will be loaded by your web browser; the browser will be brought to the foreground if you have that option checked in the settings dialog. It doesn't matter how much text you select or whether the text contains multiple URLs, URLKey will parse the text and use the first URL it finds based on the order of the URL types in the settings dialog. Installation After getting the URLKey archive, double click on the application to unarchive the Control Panel. URLKey goes into the Control Panels folder in your System Folder. Open the URLKey Control Panel to set up your default WWW browser, URL and HotKey. You shouldn't need to add additional URL tags for URLKey to recognize at this time, but as new URL types appear you'll be able to add them in the dialog. Don't forget to reboot your machine after installing URLKey. Pointerware URLKey is pointerware, maybe the first of its kind. If you like URLKey, you don't need to send us any money, just add a link to the City.Net home page at on your own web pages as a way of saying thanks. We've found URLKey to be one of the most valuable web utilities on our Macs, but you might not believe us, so we even keep track of how many times you use URLKey and display that in the control panel. All feedback and ideas should be sent to . We hope you enjoy URLKey, Kevin Altis, Rowland Smith, and Nancy Tindle.
